This statement, titled “Brain Capital: The Missing Pillar in Global Economic Policy,” is based on Prof. Rym Ayadi’s speech delivered at the G20 high-level event “Brain Health as a Driver of Global Prosperity: A G20 Call to Action,” held on 4 November 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The event was convened by the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative (DAC), co-hosted by The Brain House and the Science for Africa Foundation, and organised as an official side event to the 2025 G20 South Africa Health Ministerial and the G20 Joint Finance & Health Ministerial Meetings.
It should also be noted that EMEA has contributed to the T20 South Africa with a commentary titled “Leveraging Brain and Natural Capital: A Blueprint for a Regenerative Global Economy.” Co-authored by leading experts in brain and nature capital, the article presents an integrated approach to sustainable economic development, connecting brain health and environmental integrity.
