The statement is based on Prof. Ayadi’s presentation at the Third Marrakesh Economic Parliamentary Forum, organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) and hosted by the House of Councillors of the Kingdom of Morocco. The event took place on 23–24 May 2025 under the theme: ‘Unprecedented economic, trade and energy challenges – the response of Regional Parliaments and the private sector.
Prof. Rym Ayadi, President of EMEA and Professor at Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London, contributed to the Forum with a presentation on the future outlook for the MENA region amidst global challenges. She addressed the geopolitical and economic shifts triggered by recent U.S. policies, highlighting both the risks and the opportunities for the region to accelerate diversification, deepen regional integration, and embrace green and digital transitions to strengthen resilience and strategic autonomy.
